Organizational Setting
The Director General's Office (DGO) provides leadership and coordination for all IAEA activities at the executive level for meeting Member States' needs, and achieving a one-house approach and a results-based management.
The Office for Public Information and Communication provides objective, accurate and timely information about the IAEA and nuclear developments that fosters public understanding of the IAEA's global roles. It also provides advice to the Director General on relations with the media and organizes press briefings. The Office coordinates the communication activities for the rest of the house and assists in the media aspects of major IAEA events and conferences.
The Web, Digital Media and Public Information Materials Section has corporate responsibility for the editorial management, creation and development of information products with a particular focus on the web, digital media, internal communications and cross-departmental promotional material.
Main Purpose
In close collaboration with the Section Head and the Associate Information Officer (Editor/Social Media), the Digital Media Consultant provides technical expertise in researching, writing, editing, and posting information products for the IAEA's social media channels, as well as the website, and contributes to increasing the audience of the IAEA in social media channels through online marketing.
Functions / Key Results Expected
- Manage the IAEA corporate social media channels, draft, coordinate the clearance and publish posts on a regular basis.
- Produce and develop stories, features, and other outreach material for use in IAEA social media and the website.
- Contribute to the development of a social media marketing plan and implement the approved plan.
- Identify partners and influencers to maximize reach and engagement with IAEA content through their respective audiences and provide assistance to encourage the media to highlight IAEA interviews on their digital accounts and platforms.
- Select and propose visuals, including pictures, illustrations, and infographics, for use on the IAEA social media channels.
- Manage logistics for live social media events on IAEA channels.
- Provide assistance in designing and ensuring the dissemination of digital media campaigns and making recommendations on improving the visibility of IAEA events through digital marketing.
- Provide support to the Director (OPIC) by producing social media analysis, drafting reports, guidelines and liaising with internal stakeholders on social media issues.

Qualifications and Experience

University degree (bachelors) in journalism or related field.
- Minimum of two years working experience in marketing, journalism, social media, public affairs or related field.
- Ability to use graphic design, including appropriate software tools, to communicate complex concepts to general audiences is an asset.
- Ability in translating technical concepts into public information material intended for the general public.
- Familiarity with nuclear technology and its core concepts is desirable.
- Knowledge of Drupal and ability to use graphic design, including appropriate software tools is desirable.
Remuneration
The remuneration for this consultancy is a daily fee of up to a maximum of € 190, based on qualifications and experience. In case duty travel is required within the assignment, a daily subsistence allowance (DSA) and travel costs are provided. Health coverage and pension fund are the responsibility of the incumbent.
