Our current Payroll Specialist will be on parental leave from November 2023 – We are therefore looking for a payroll and administration star as a replacement during the fixed period to start as soon as possible.

Even if it's a role with a lot of individual responsibility we always help each other out when needed, we do what's best for the team. This is a full-time temporary position with an expected end date of December 2024, with the possibility to extend depending on future needs. Located at our HQ in Gothenburg, Sweden, you will be part of our Global Compensation & Benefits and Payroll team, reporting to Polestar's Head of Compensation & Benefits and Payroll.


What you’ll do

In close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, you will manage and coordinate the payroll cycles and administrative tasks for multiple different markets and areas, needing an eye for detail and great coordination skills. In interaction with our external payroll vendor, you will manage the full payroll cycle, including communication with employees, managers, and other stakeholders.

With an eye for refinement, you will identify and suggest and implement process- and system improvements to secure accuracy and quality. You will also be supporting in payroll-related reporting, audits, and yearly projects as well as administration related to pension, insurance, and benefits suppliers and systems.

Further, you will:

  • Be the main point of contact for payroll in some of our European markets, which means interfacing with our payroll provider, employees, HR- and Finance colleagues, and external parties (i.e., mobility, pension, authorities)
  • Document and evolve instructions and processes to payroll-related questions to build effective communication towards our employees and organization
  • Be backup for local HR/payroll

In addition to your main responsibilities, you will support the people administration in our Workday and the continuous improvements within HR Operations as well as assisting projects with other HR colleagues, for example in Compensation & Benefits.


Who you are

We are eagerly looking for you who have a true passion for working in a structured way with this type of payroll and administration which requires great attention to detail and accuracy. Since you will be alone in your role, taking great responsibility and meeting set deadlines comes naturally to you. Also, you have a fantastic ability to independently drive your own tasks and prioritize, in close collaboration with internal and external parties. To be a great fit for this position, you are eager to learn new things and constantly try to improve with the goal of providing the best for our company and its employees.

Further on, we believe you to have:

  • Work-life experience of independently managing multi-country payroll and/or administration as well as experience from working in a coordinating role managing multiple stakeholders
  • A post-secondary degree in payroll or equivalent is preferable.
  • Have a high level of integrity – understanding the high demands on confidentiality and data security and accuracy in relation to payroll is essential.

It’s beneficial if you have experience working in Workday HR System.
