A great opportunity has risen for a competent Operations Manager to join our company Wonga Holdings on a fixed contract.
Job Responsibilities:
The Employee Roles and Responsibilities Include but not limited:

  • Ensure health and safety responsibilities are in place as per the Mine Health and Safety Act (29 of 1996)
  • Ensure that all applicable statutory requirements are met in terms of labour, environment, health, and safety.
  • Coordinate all production and develop, implement, and facilitate business strategies
  • Oversee construction of annual site budgets under your control.
  • Monthly presentations to the executive management team regarding operations, health & safety.
  • Facilitate processes to optimise yield, throughput, and availability.
  • Continuously adapt workforce to operational requirements to ensure optimum ROI
  • Rehabilitation plans as per the approved Environmental Management Programmes
  • Interaction and contact the local Authorities regarding all mining related operational matters
  • Recruit, train, mentor, discipline and motivate direct reports when appropriate
  • Accountable for the implementation of the Social Labour Plan as delegated to relevant subordinates Define, with site management, major investment opportunities to improve yield and efficiency
  • Ensure the sustainability of the mining operations by ensuring mining exploration is executed in accordance with budgetary targets to identify and/or enhance ore deposits
  • Ensure, monthly, cost management and control of all operations comply with approved cost budgets Monthly operational report to Mine ManagerQualifications and experience
  • A relevant degree in Mining, Geology or Metallurgy
  • Management Development Programme
  • 10 Years working experience in Mining environment
  • Experience with production, preferably metallurgical environment, with multiple operational functions (Production, Industrial Relations, Maintenance and Engineering)
  • Tender Management Process
  • Strong Leadership ability is critical.
  • Good Communication skills, Problem-solving and conflict management
  • Ability to drive teamwork and team development.
  • Work independently without direct supervision.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of management, executive leadership, and support staff

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: R50,000.00 - R60,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Sandton, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
