Job Description


The Financial Review is seeking to appoint a new Wealth Editor.

The Wealth Editor will shape, drive and contribute to the masthead's coverage of wealth management, with an emphasis on creating news, features and educational content for our unique breadth of subscribers across the wealth spectrum, from professional and sophisticated investors to retirees and self-managed superannuation funds to Millennial and Gen Z savers and traders.

Day to day you will:

  • Develop and execute a clear vision for the Wealth section, including enhancing coverage and expanding investment content
  • Manage a small team of reporters and contributors
  • Commission and edit news and features for weekly investor sections
  • Cover daily news and big breaking stories
  • Produce the Wealth Generation weekly newsletter
  • Develop and maintain a broad network of contacts across the wealth management industry
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of personal finance topics, issues, and key government policies
  • Commission and brief stories and features, set deadlines, and edit copy
  • Write sharp online headlines and intros

Qualifications
  • Previous experience covering personal finance is essential
  • Proven ability to drive news coverage and generate ideas
  • Strong writing, editing, and commissioning skills
  • Thorough understanding of personal finance topics, issues, and key government policies
  • Broad network of contacts across the wealth management industry
  • Ability to manage a team and meet deadlines
