We have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional individual to work supporting one of our clients as a System Administrator
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular patch management activities for servers and systems in the data center, including planning, testing, and deploying patches.
- Install and configure monitoring agents on servers, network devices, and other infrastructure components to ensure comprehensive visibility and proactive monitoring.
- Manage and maintain the monitoring infrastructure, including monitoring tools, dashboards, and alerting mechanisms.
- Monitor system logs, performance metrics, and other relevant data to identify potential issues or anomalies.
- Respond to monitoring alerts promptly and investigate and resolve issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime and impact on business operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex system and network problems.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to systems administration, including installation procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
- Stay up to date with the latest technologies, best practices, and industry trends in systems administration, data center operations, and monitoring.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role, preferably in a data center environment.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux server administration, including patching and security best practices.
- Experience with installing and configuring monitoring agents and tools
- Familiarity with data center infrastructure components, including servers, switches, routers, firewalls, and storage systems.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, etc.).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation and task simplification.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and provide effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
